TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — The University of Arizona has announced that women's head soccer coach Lisa Oyen is resigning.
University officials say Oyen is stepping down to pursue other opportunities, but they did not elaborate.
Oyen said in a statement that it was a difficult decision to make and she thanked the university for the opportunity to lead the women's team for the past three years.
Oyen took over the program as interim coach during the 2009 season.
The Cats finished the season 6-11-3 overall and 2-7-2 in Pac-12 play. Jazmin Ponce earned a first-team All-Pac-12 selection and Kristin Strother earned a first-team academic all-conference honor.
Oyen was an accomplished collegiate player at Montana. She also coached professionally and in the Arizona Olympic Development Program during her tenure at Arizona.
The university plans to conduct a national search for her replacement.
