The U.S. men's soccer team recorded three huge points Friday night in a thrilling 2-1 World Cup qualifier win over Jamaica, thanks in large part to a remarkable, stoppage-time goal from midfielder Brad Evans.

For Evans, a Valley native, the goal was his first in 10 international appearances.

The 28-year-old currently plays professionally in the MLS for Seattle Sounders FC, but originally made a name for himself as a prep star for Mountain Pointe from 2000-2003.

In four seasons with the Pride, the two-time member of the All-State team scored 54 career goals.
