One man’s votes for the ‘Franchise Four’ of each Arizona pro team

A tip of the cap to Major League Baseball for their All-Star festivities this year.

In addition to fielding the only big league sports All-Star game worth watching, the revamped format for the Home Run Derby not only made me tune in, but enjoy the event.

And this season, the marketing folks at the MLB office did a nice job of creating a major sports media discussion with the unveiling of their Franchise Four — the quartet of best players from each franchise as well as the Greatest Living Players, Greatest Pioneers and Greatest Negro League Players.

Talk show hosts all over the country appreciate the talking points (trust me) during what is considered a dead week on the national sports calendar.

It got me to thinking about the Franchise Four for all the local teams. Here’s how I’d vote:
