Aldridge, Lillard, Trail Blazers guest star in ‘Portlandia’ episode

Apr 12, 2014, 7:22 PM | Updated: 7:22 pm

The IFC sketch-comedy series “Portlandia,” which satirizes everything in Oregon’s largest city, turned its focus on the hometown NBA team in its latest episode, which aired earlier this week.

In the final skit of the episode, two feminist characters — played by the show’s stars, Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen — visit the Portland Trail Blazers’ locker room after a loss.

Robin Lopez, Thomas Robinson, LaMarcus Aldridge, Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum all guest star in the skit, playing themselves. It was Aldridge’s second appearance in the series.

Earlier in the episode, Browstein and Armisen’s characters complained that women were only allowed to step on the court to dance, so they met with the Blazers cheerleaders and convinced them to read poetry and introduce themselves to the crowd during a game.

“Tonight, the women won, and you know what, we are all women,” Armisen’s character said to the Blazers players.

Brownstein’s character replaces each player’s last name with “woman,” and goes around the room before Lillard stops her.

“Lillard!” the star point guard said. “I’m not a woman. I’m a man.”

“Ugh, I don’t agree with you,” replied Armisen, a former “Saturday Night Live” comedian.

Armisen’s character also said she dated Michael Jordan once, but the Blazers players dig into the veracity of the feminist’s claim.
