Oops: Samsung Mobile Arabia wishes best of luck to Team USA, Landon Donovan

Jun 22, 2014, 6:59 PM | Updated: 9:23 pm

Timing is everything.

Before the U.S. set out to play Portugal in the World Cup on Sunday, the Twitter account for Samsung Mobile Arabia sent out a tweet wishing the best of luck to Team USA and soccer star Landon Donovan, who is sponsored by the mobile phone maker.

The only problem is the famous 32-year-old American footballer was famously left off the team’s final roster heading into the tournament in Brazil.

And if you need to check the date when this was posted, yes it is June 22.

Like we said, timing is everything. If the account would have tweeted this exact same message one month ago, it would have been a little early but followers would likely have cheered it on.

Instead, it’s a big egg on the face for the electronics giant.

In case Samsung gets wise to its social media miscue, below is a screenshot of the tweet in question.
