It seems as though whenever the US gets patriotic about its sports, the food industry tends to suffer.
In February, American bars stopped serving Canadian beer as the US Hockey Team was facing off against its rivals from up north.
And now, as the US Soccer Team prepares to face off with Belgium in a World Cup match, it appears a popular breakfast item is coming under fire.
Stepping up to defend the Belgian waffle is none other than Denny’s, the fine establishment that likely sells more than its fair share of the tasty food item.
everyone's asking us about certain waffles, smh. don't hate on fine exports, just support the USA.

Maybe they have a point. After all, cheese does rule.
