The worst slide ever? Yeah, probably

Jul 10, 2014, 9:24 PM | Updated: 9:24 pm

One of the most important (and fun) things we learned in Little League was the art of the slide.

It was important as both a tool to get around the bases and a way to stay safe on the field.

At the professional level, often times the act of sliding into a base isn’t given much thought. Everyone knows how to do it, so they just, umm, do it.

But every now and then the descent into the base goes awry. This is one of those times.

In a Korean Baseball Organization game on July 10, Lotte Giants infielder Hwang Jae-Gyun’s attempt at reaching third base not only failed, but likely provided a bit of laughter for all who were fortunate enough to see it.

Here’s video of the slide combined with silly banjo music.
