The Arizona Diamondbacks have had a rough go of it in 2014, but that hasn't stopped the diehard fans from coming to Chase Field throughout the season.
One such fan, Joe Cortez, and his father have made their way to the ballpark every game thus far -- and their loyalty was rewarded in a big way.
Before a recent visit to a D-backs game, special assistant to the president & CEO Luis Gonzalez surprised the father-son duo.
The pair were invited down on the field to watch batting practice, but the best surprise came just minutes before the game started.
And it involved a very special first pitch.
"I just love this organization so much," Cortez said. "The fact that I got to go out there and throw a first pitch for them is unbelievable."
