Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch again stonewalls reporters during press conference

Jan 29, 2015, 6:39 PM | Updated: 9:57 pm

Marshawn Lynch, man of few words.

The Seattle Seahawks running back was again required to hold court with the media Thursday leading up to Glendale, Arizona’s Super Bowl XLIX, and Lynch predictably answered few questions.

Below is a sampling of how the uncomfortable press conference went — including his not-so-warm opening statement, which probably featured the most original material the media has heard out of him in some time.

Lynch went on the defensive after his intro, ignoring questions and continually reminding reporters how much time he had left to fulfill his league requirement. The five-time Pro Bowler also gave random shout-outs to various groups, including his teammates.

One reporter asked Lynch to talk about his foundation that works with inner-city youth, and the running back told the man to come find him when he’s in the middle of such charity work, and to ask him questions then.

Another person asked the 28-year-old veteran who he thinks the best player on his team is, and he answered, “All of them.”

After ignoring several other inquiries, Lynch deviated from his usual stonewall tactics to name drop the website URL for his Beast Mode clothing line after being asked about his hat.

Lynch’s latest antics followed up his odd session at Super Bowl Media Day on Tuesday in downtown Phoenix, in which the former Cal Golden Bear consistently answered each question with, “I’m here so I don’t get fined.”

It also didn’t take long for someone to turn Lynch’s comments into music. Spekulation, a Seattle producer, did just that. Turns out it’s pretty catchy.

The eight-year veteran has no further media requirements leading up to Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots at University of Phoenix Stadium.
