Xavier Prep is the usual favorite in Division I girls golf. This year is no exeption as three of the top 10 scoring players last year at state are back for the Gators.
A senior, two juniors and two sophomores are competing for Xavier in this year's tournament that runs Wednesday Oct. 30 and Thursday Oct. 31 at Aguila Golf Course in Laveen.
Leading the charge for Xavier is last year's champ Hannah O'Sullivan O'Sullivan set a state tournament record with a 12-under 132 total last year as a freshman. Joining her again are juniors Arianna Macioce (tiie for 5th) and Madison Kerley (7th) plus sophomore Alisa Snyder and senior Katie Dunaway.
Tee times begin at 10 a.m. off No. 1 and No. 10 with 15 teams and 14 individuals qualifying. Teams that qualified are Basha, Boulder Creek, Corona del Sol, Deer Valley, Desert Ridge, Gilbert, Hamilton, Horizon, Ironwood Ridge, Millennium, Mountain Ridge, Mesa Mtn. View, Pinnacle, Red Mountain and Xavier.
