Have the Arizona Diamondbacks turned a corner?

That question can be debated, but there’s no doubt their series win in Milwaukee is a good one. The D-backs lost the first game but rebounded to take the next two, including Wednesday’s 3-2 victory.

So let’s take a look at the game — and series, as a whole — by the numbers:

1

Every D-back who started Wednesday’s game got at least one hit — including pitcher Bronson Arroyo.

2

Paul Goldschmidt hit a home run in each of the last two games of the series. In all, he crushed Brewers pitching to the tune of a .467 average (7-for-15) with two home runs, one double and four RBI.

4

In all, the D-backs hit four home runs in the series. Along with Goldschmidt’s two, infielders Chris Owings and Aaron Hill each knocked one out of the park.

5

D-backs starter Bronson Arroyo allowed just five hits in 7.1 innings Wednesday. In his last three starts, the veteran has allowed just 15 hits.

10

Though he allowed a run, Addison Reed locked down his 10th save in 11 chances Wednesday afternoon. For comparison’s sake, last season’s saves leader, Heath Bell, finished with just 15.

10 again

Wednesday’s victory pushed Arizona’s road record to 10-9.

13

While the D-backs will certainly be pleased with the win, the fact that they turned 14 hits into just three runs will not make them happy. Arizona left 13 men on base Wednesday.

25

D-backs pitchers combined for 25 strikeouts in the three-game series.

36

Eric Chavez, 36, stole second base in the top of the ninth inning Wednesday. He only swiped one bag all of last season, and before joining the D-backs had not stolen a base since 2007.
