Arizona State quarterback Taylor Kelly was nominated for the 2014 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team on Tuesday.
Student-athletes are chosen for the extensive volunteer and charity work they have performed within their school’s community. Kelly is one of only five FBS football players to be honored with a nomination in 2013 and 2014.
A Second Team All-Pac-12 member in 2013, Kelly has taught and mentored students at South Mountain High School, Academy of Excellence and Cesar Chavez High School. Former Sun Devils who have been nominated for the award include Brandon Magee, Aaron Pflugrad, Thomas Weber, Mike Nixon and Keegan Herring.
A panel of prominent national media members and former Good Works Team members will now vote to narrow down the list of nominees to 22 award recipients, which will be announced in September by the American Football Coaches Association.
