INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The younger brother of New Orleans Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon has been ruled ineligible to play high school basketball in Indiana for the upcoming season.
The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1rmZBqZ ) Indiana High School Athletic Association Commissioner Bobby Cox says Eron Gordon is ineligible to play because his transfer from the city’s North Central High School to Cathedral High School was deemed to be “primarily for athletic reasons.” Cox said Gordon’s parents have submitted a written appeal. A hearing date has not yet been set.
The 6-2 junior has scholarship offers from Indiana, Purdue, Arizona State and Nebraska. He averaged 14.7 points and 4.4 rebounds as a sophomore at North Central.
