Grand Canyon, Northern Arizona to square off Wednesday in CIT

Mar 15, 2015, 11:30 PM | Updated: Mar 16, 2015, 7:30 pm

For the second time in as many seasons, Grand Canyon and Northern Arizona will meet on the basketball court.

GCU and NAU will face each other in the first round of the 2015 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at GCU Arena in Phoenix.

Grand Canyon will look to even the score with the Lumberjacks, who beat the Antelopes 63-61 in their last meeting, Dec. 14, 2013 in Flagstaff.

In their second season at the NCAA Division I level, the ‘Lopes are 17-14 and 8-6 in WAC play under second-year coach Dan Majerle.

NAU finished the regular season with a 19-14 overall record and 13-5 mark in the Big Sky. The Lumberjacks will likely be without head coach Jack Murphy, who was suspended due to his actions after NAU’s Big Sky Tournament semifinal loss to Montana on Friday.

The CIT is a 32-team single-elimination tournament that was created in 2009.

Ticket information for Wednesday’s game is available here.
