The Phoenix Suns open their 2015-16 season against the Dallas Mavericks on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. This will be Tyson Chandler’s first game for the Phoenix Suns and also his first game against his former team.
A seven-game homestand in February is the longest of the season, which includes two games against the Houston Rockets and also play the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Golden State Warriors and the San Antonio Spurs.
The longest road trip comes in November, with six games in nine days against Toronto, Brooklyn, Detroit, Washington, Memphis and Chicago.
Notable home games include the NBA champion Warriors coming to town on Nov. 27 and Feb 10. There’s also LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers playing in Phoenix on Dec. 28.
The NBA cut down on severe back-to-back game instances. The league as a whole goes from 70 four games in five nights instances in 2014-15 to only 27 in 2015-16. The Suns go from 18 back-to-back games in 2014-15 to only 14 in 2015-16, which is tied for the least in the NBA.
Notes on the schedule for the Suns:
– Marcus Morris’ return to the Valley will be early. The Detroit Pistons come to town on Nov. 6.
– Goran Dragic and Gerald Green return on Jan. 8.
– 18 of the Suns’ 41 home games will be played from Friday through Sunday.
– 13 national television games for the Suns. Three games on TNT, two games on ESPN, and eight on NBA TV.
– The Suns play 10 of 11 of their games at home in February, with the only night on the road being in Los Angeles.
– All four Sunday games in the afternoon are not taking place during a Cardinals game.
