PHOENIX -- The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is conducting another crime-suppression sweep.
It's the first since a judge ruled that Sheriff Joe Arpaio's office engaged in racial profiling.
Sheriff's officials said the two-day sweep in southwest Phoenix began Friday.
MCSO has staged 20 crime-suppression sweeps since 2008.
This one is the first such operation since a federal judge in Phoenix ordered an independent monitor be appointed to oversee the retraining of Arpaio's deputies and ensure that MCSO is complying with constitutional requirements.
U.S. District Judge Murray Snow found in May that Arpaio's office singled out Latinos and deputies unreasonably prolonged detentions.
