Will Ferrell put down his anchorman hat and gave NBA security a try.

The 45-year-old comedian kept a stone face as he stood on the Staple Center court during Tuesday night's Lakers game.

During the "performance," Ferrell spotted a suspicious 7' 1" 300+ lb male sitting court-side and quickly intervened.

After a brief altercation, Ferrell escorted the former Lakers center, Shaquille O'Neal, off the court.

It's unclear if Will Ferrell was gearing up for a future movie role involving an NBA security Guard, or just having a little fun.

Ferrell's latest film, Anchorman: The Legend Continues, is currently in post-production and scheduled to hit the big screen late December, 2013.
