LISTEN: UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez

Muhammad Ali vs. Joe Frazier. Micky Ward vs. Arturo Gatti. Randy Couture vs. Chuck Liddell. Georges St. Pierre vs. Matt Hughes. These are just a handful of the trilogies that have helped shape the world of combat sports. Each series of fights left the audience in awe, as they witnessed two warriors leaving it all on the line with the hopes of not only earning the win, but cementing themselves as one of the greatest fighters of all time.

It’s the stuff that legends are made of, and on Saturday night at UFC 166, heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez and longtime rival Junior dos Santos will square off once again in the epic conclusion of their own legendary trilogy.

With a sense of finality looming over the conclusion of a trilogy, it doesn’t get much more exciting than this, with these two men looking to settle the argument over who is the greatest UFC heavyweight champion of all time.

An average human would undoubtedly crumple under the amount of hype being placed upon these two men. But for Velasquez, it’s just another day at the office.

Appearing on the Power MMA Show on Arizona Sports 620, the champion revealed he has never been more ready to step into the octagon in his entire life.

“I feel great. I had a great training camp going and my body is feeling 100% and mentally I’m ready,” said Velasquez

The first time these two hulking fighters squared off, dos Santos needed a little more than a minute to land a perfectly placed overhand right to the skull of his opponent before a series of blows to the downed champion gave the Brazilian striker not only the victory, but also the heavyweight championship.
