“The Spider” is back.
Ten weeks after suffering one of the most gruesome injuries in sports history, Anderson Silva is not only walking without crutches, but he is back at the gym.
In a video posted to the former UFC middleweight champion’s Instagram, Silva is seen throwing crisp kicks with his surgically repaired leg along with the caption, “Always believe you can. Everyone have a good week.”
For fans who don’t remember, Silva snapped his left tibia and fibula in a main event matchup against Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December.
Many in the MMA community predicted this injury would be the end of the greatest fighter who ever lived. But it does not seem like Silva had any thoughts of retirement as he continues his miraculous road back to the octagon, which UFC President Dana White revealed could be as early as late 2014.
