D-backs, Paul Goldschmidt launch 'Bleacher Creature' program to benefit PCH
The 2013 National League MVP runner-up and the D-backs announced Tuesday that they've teamed up to create a new program called 'Bleacher Creature' through Goldschmidt's new fund, Goldy's Fund 4 Kids.
The 'Bleacher Creature' program features Goldschmidt's likeness in plush doll form.
The dolls can be purchased for $44 at all D-backs' home games (Section 111) or at dbacks.com/goldyfund.
Money raised from 'Bleacher Creature' purchases will benefit the Phoenix Children's Hospital.
"It's just a natural fit," Goldschmidt said in a press release. "My wife, Amy, and I have had the opportunity to volunteer over at Phoenix Children's Hospital and see a lot of the needs over there. It's a very worthy cause. There are a lot of families with kids there that can use the help, and with them being a partner of the D-backs, it was just a win-win for everyone. Plus, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation does so many great things in the community, so working with them means a great partner and a great opportunity. I'm just glad to be a small part of it and try to help out as much as I can."
Goldschmidt and his wife are hoping to raise $100,000 for PCH through the 'Bleacher Creature' program and other Goldy's Fund 4 Kids' fundraisers.
