Wow!

As the Arizona Cardinals' chances to land Peyton Manning diminish by the minute, another team has jumped into the mix for the free agent quarterback's services, according to Chris Mortensen of ESPN.

The 49ers were initially listed as a potential suitor for Manning's services, but were eliminated by most analysts "in the know". The group of teams considered serious contenders was seemingly whittled to three Thursday when the Miami Dolphins stopped their pursuit, leaving the Cardinals, Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans as possibilities.

Of course, Manning to San Francisco would ensure that Cardinals' fans would get to see #18 at University of Phoenix Stadium, only wearing enemy colors.

Finally a team that makes sense!
I enjoy the Cards, but to think outside of the box here the Niners makes total sense in regards to current playoff team. Much less, a playoff team missing the one position that can take them over the top (sound familiar?). I am Not a Bud Adams fan with his approach to football (fingers a blazin'), and Not a fan of Donkey nation either. This would though suck big time for the AZ Cardinal Fan.

    My only hope..
Is that the 49ers don't get him and upset Alex Smith enough that he goes elsewhere. Then they have to scramble and are left with scraps. I *hate* the 49ers

This would totally suck. If the Niners land Manning they will probably most likely be champs until he retires. And yes it does make sense I just didnt want to say anything because their in OUR division. I could live with him not coming to Arizona. I could care less if he went to another team. BUT IF HE GOES TO SF... FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

    No clue at ESPN
This further shows that nobody really knows anything about what is going on with Peyton Manning. He worked out for SF earlier this week??? HA! ESPN needs to stop talking and just wait for something definitive. Stop the insanity of reporting how your mom's cousin's dog heard about a cat that might know Peyton and is pretty sure that he likes dogs. Just horrible...

    I Keep Thinking
This is the stuff that used to make Al Davis a genius. I know he's old and clueless and that the Raiders are pathetic but something tells me he might be in on the plan. As for the Cards, keep dreaming. Giving Kolb the $7 million already proves he's outta here and that we don't have a QB. I wonder if Testaverde can still play!

    apparently, best fit, doesnt matter...
But, ownership may! Dont see much success for PM in Denver or TN and I think SF would be the absolute worst fit for a guy like Peyton. I personally challenge (though nobody cares) PM to sign at SF. Not because I wish him ill-will (I wish him the best). Instead, it will be a perfect demonstration of how me-me WRs act as a virus to a team and how Ra-Ra coaching belongs in the NCAA with immature minds. There is some selfishness too, as it gives the mediocre Cards a shot. I realize this sounds silly...

    best fit cont...
There is a reason why they call it a team...its about how these ELITE atheletes/coaches work in concert. Its about 'emergence' (greater than the sum of its parts). PM is my pick for the greatest QB ever to play...no question in my mind. But he does not fit a single scheme/mindset/or philosophy of any of the three teams being discussed. These teams are 'hoping' for PM to 'Change' it for them. This type of thinking is exactly why they will not succeed. PM will only succeed in a structure that compliments his tmates and vice versa. Dont believe me? Ask Philly!
