It's never too soon for power rankings, unless it's too soon for power rankings.

ESPN released its "pre-draft Power rankings," with the Cardinals listed as the 2nd-best NFC West team, but 21st-best in the NFL.

Why so low? Well, ESPN NFC West blogger Mike Sando's Cardinals note in the rankings could give a clue.

Cardinals still hoping to win their bet on Kevin Kolb, but John Skelton will compete for the starting job.

Indeed, while the Cardinals used a 7-2 run to finish the 2011 season 8-8, until the QB position is settled it will be tough for anyone to pick them any higher than where ESPN has them.

But, if one of Kolb or Skelton proves to be "the answer" this season, chances are good Arizona's ranking will climb a considerable amount before the year is over.

Power rankings are just fodder for those that have never played the game. They mean absolutely nothing.

    Here we go again!!
The last time that I heard this ridiculas statement from those people with 100% hind sight but 0% foresight it concerned two other QB's. One of which--Kurt Warner, brought us to the Big Dance. Did THAt stop the side mouthing? No. The Cardinals weren't even given the proper respect for having fought their way to the Super Bowl. Any other team and the media would have been gaga over. So, here we go again! You guys out there with the pointy heads--just what does this team have to do for you in order for you guys to cut them a break?
