The Arizona Cardinals selected quarterback Ryan Lindley from San Diego State with the 185th pick overall Saturday.

The 22-year-old signal caller was a four year starter for the Aztecs and set school records with 12,690 passing yards and 90 touchdowns.

Lindley possesses incredible arm strength, completing at least 237 passes in each season as the Aztecs starting quarterback.

A confident quarterback who has proven to be a model of consistency, Lindley also holds a school record for starting 49 straight games.

One area of Lindley's game that needs improvement is his accuracy throwing the football. He never completed more than 57.7 percent of his throws in four years at San Diego State.

In 2011, Lindley was named the Aztecs offensive MVP and ranked third in the Mountain West Conference in total offense with 238.6 yards per game. Lindley threw just eight interceptions and compiled ten games with at least 200 yards passing.

The 6'4" 230-pounder is one of six quarterbacks who played in the 2012 Senior Bowl. Lindley was also rated the 34th-best quarterback nationally by Rivals.com.

    Have to agree...
This pick is the one pick of this draft that really stood out to me as a noodle scratcher. I'd like to say they felt he's just the best player they had available, but if so that says an awful lot about what else was available considering his lack of accuracy and ranking as 34th best QB in the draft. This certainly wasn't a pick for need either, as we've got plenty of 'projects' at the QB position already, almost all more highly rated. I wasn't happy when they took a RB in the second round last year, but at least he was highly rated, this guy, I just don't know what to think...

Sounds like this dude has the same problem Kolb and Skelton have. ACCURACY! Really? We need fresh & younger legs at LB and better depth at DL WR CB SS FS & RB.

He's not the 34th rated QB in the draft!
Rivals ranks high school kids going to play college ball. He was ranked in the #5-#8 QB range in this draft. 53% completion percentage is horrendous for sure, but at least when he misses he misses deep (23TD/8INT) instead of under-throwing the ball and getting it picked? It's a 6th round pick, relax everybody. I like the pick. Our QBs are less than spectacular, why not take a shot on a smart young QB with a huge arm and potential? For a 6th round pick it's a risk I'm willing to take. Now, time to sign G-Rob and Vontaze!

    Criner wasn't available
Criner was selected in the 5th round, about 18 spots before this spot.

Not bad for Practice Squad. He is future third quarterback for our team.

    3 solid QB's???
Kolb is one concussion away from ending his career, Skelton has talent but lacks experience, so we're never sure what we're gunna get from him, Bartel is a permanent 3rd stringer that isn't very good at any one thing. We could use another QB in the mix, especially one that has an arm

Every year the cards make a bone headed move and waste a pick on a worthless player or an areas of no need. Well, we do need a real QB, but this guy is not going to be that in his career. Hes actually not that good from what I have seen.
