The Arizona Cardinals selected OT Nate Potter from Boise State with the 221st pick overall Saturday.

The 6'6" 303-pounder started all four years at Boise State. He has good athletic ability but needs to add weight to his frame. He has the potential to be a solid pass protection blocker if he adds to his body mass but he'll need to get stronger if he wants to become a starting offensive tackle.

Potter has proven to be a consistent force on the field at Boise State, having started every game the past two years for the Broncos.

He possesses quickness, good range and is a solid technical blocker. He has the skills to earn a starting job but will likely need a few years of seasoning before he is ready to tackle such a role. Potter has big hands and could be assigned to block against speedy edge rushers.

The Cardinals made Potter their final selection in the 2012 NFL draft. They opted to choose three linemen in this year's draft who all have high level potential and could develop nicely under their coaching staff.

Potter will likely be listed behind Levi Brown and D.J. Young at left tackle.

    Needs Now!!
We need linemen now, not yrs from now and to top it off he's undersized and needs to get stronger??? Our QB's will never stand upright. Im sure their had to of been OT/OG that might of been better or atleast closer to actually making an impact of some kind, sooner then later. Dissapointed in this pick, very....

    Um, CardAZ1....
You do realize this was pick 221 right? I'm not saying there might not have been a player who was a bit more polished available some where, but you very VERY rarely get impact players this late in the draft. In these rounds your usually looking for a sub-par player with potential over some one who is good enough to start now, but is very mediocre and will likely always be mediocre. There's almost always a plethora of mediocre players available as non-draft invitees. I don't know that we truly upgraded our o-line with this draft, but we at least upgraded its depth which was sorely lacking.

We dont have any good tackles. Hopefully he can outplay whoever and start and contribute more than whoever was starting before...

    got to love people
So first people complain about the cards not picking an olineman. They pick up 3 and that still isnt good enough.

    Drafting O-line isn't the problem
We shouldn't be concerned about or O-line picks, what we should be concerned about is who do we have to develop this young talent. If you think Grimm, think agaqin because you're drinking too much Kool-aid. Grimm doesn’t have the ability or the know-how to get the best out of these players!
