Taken with the 185th pick of the 2012 draft by the Arizona Cardinals, quarterback Ryan Lindley is doing everything he can to soak in information during OTAs.

Highly praised by the media, Sports Illustrated's Peter King predicted that Lindley will play by mid-season.

While not going that far, ESPN's Ron Jaworski said he thinks Lindley will be a starter within four seasons.

"That's a high honor," Lindley told Arizona Sports 620's Burns and Gambo. "That's a guy who has done a lot, seen a lot. If I ever get to meet [Jaworski] I'll definitely thank him for the praise."

Lindley joined Thursday's show to discuss his experience with OTAs and his role so far with the team coming from San Diego State.

"It's obviously different, the speed of the game and everything," Lindley said. "Going from where you start four years at your school, and you're kind of the guy and you kind of run practice so to speak."

At 6-foot-4 and 229 pounds, Lindley finished his career at San Diego State with 90 touchdown passes and 47 interceptions. His draft stock fell, however, after he completed just 53 percent of his passes in 2011.

With Kevin Kolb and John Skelton battling for the starting job, as well as Richard Bartel on the roster, Lindley knows his role is to learn from the other quarterbacks and improve on his weaknesses.

"You have to have the play in your head, going through it and almost mentally and visually go through it yourself as if you're the guy in the huddle or the guy under center," Lindley said. "Watching, reading and reacting just as Kevin would, as if you're the guy on the field."

Lindley said he is going to relish the opportunity and just wants to learn as much as he can.

"You just have to suck in their experience and kind of steal reps from them and not make mistakes that you've seen on film or seen other guys do. Just try to cut that learning curve short," Lindley said.
