For all intents and purposes the offseason is over, as training camp is just around the corner with the regular season soon to follow.

So, if there was ever a time to look back and grade how each team did, this is it, and it just so happens, Matt Williamson of ESPN.com did just that.

In an ESPN Insider piece, Williamson gave the Cardinals a C for their efforts.

In terms of veteran movement in free agency, the Cardinals had very little whatsoever. And status quo isn't good for this organization in a division that is getting increasingly difficult.

Williamson points to William Gay and Adam Snyder as key additions, but lists Richard Marshall, Rex Hadnot, Deuce Lutui and Sean Considine as key losses.

Apparently actually getting on the field is not a requirement for being a "key" loss.

Anyway, it is noted that the maturation of someone like Rob Housler as well as the return of Ryan Williams should help, and the addition of Michael Floyd will make the offense even better.

Add that to a defense that Williamson said got "much better" in 2011 and boasts a player in Patrick Peterson who "is on the cusp of becoming the second-best cornerback in football" and the Cardinals may not have needed to do too much.

Clearly, the original author knows about as much as the usual national talking heads about the Cardinals (nothing). We spent big on free agents last year, signed our own stars to big contracts last year, and weren't in a position this time around to throw money at other teams castoffs. Our defense is pretty well set (we'll see at OLB and SILB), and the offense is getting back a healthy Beanie, a healthy Ryan Williams, an improving potential star in Housler, and three new O Line draft picks (!)

I give the Cards at least a "B" for their off season! They had a solid draft & brought in solid FA's for key positions! Last season they seemed desperate but so did a lot of teams with the FA frenzy due to the lock out!

    What the?? Really???
Key losses: Deuce? -0- starts and his career was on life support after Coach gave him one last shot (because he failed his physical with the Bungels). Considine? Started with Carolina, let go. -0- starts with the Cards, -0- sacks, 1 solo tackle in 8 games. I really regret not going into sports journalism when I decided on a career. Evidently, any monkey can make a living doing this.

    The sad part is...
You have to be an insider to read this article. I sent him a tweet asking him to tell Cardinal fans who Sean Considine is since we never saw him play.

I think its hilarious this dude called Constitine, Lutui, and Hadnox key losses. I think Marshall was a key loss. He's not good enough to play outside corner but he was good enough to play as nickel or dime CB. He was good at tackling. I think Snyder was a good acquisition. I dont think Gay was... I think the cards did a great job in the draft. Overall their off season was a B- in my book. My concern isnt with the players. Its with the coaches. Can they get these guys playing at a high level? We will see...
