The Arizona Cardinals have signed running back Thomas Clayton, according to pro football scout.

Clayton was most recently with the Cleveland Browns in 2011, and rushed for 12 yards on eight carries.

Clayton was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2007 draft from Kansas State and has spent time with the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks as well.

Clayton spent the 2009 season on injured reserve after getting hurt during the preseason.

In his career Clayton has rushed for 29 yards on 15 carries and has one reception for three yards.

A sixth round pick in 2007, so in 4 years he conjured up 29 yards. A big 7.5 yards per year, a sure fire Hall of Famer! Come on Whiz you trying to light a fire under the water boy or what?

    depth for pre season
Beanie and Ryan are hurt, they dont want to Run LSH out there the whole game and whiz doesnt want Sherman carrying too much this is a preseason depth move, thats all.

    I don't get that.
I would have been looking for a Veteran QB. With all of the available free agents out there this choice baffles me. Ronnie Brown, Justin Forsett, Thomas Jones, Jackie Battle...and the list goes on of players MUCH better than this fella.

    Camp body
As Dr S said above, this is just a camp body to take up runs in practice and preseason games while Beanie and Ryan are hurt. He'll be cut just as soon as both are at practice full time.
