According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, it looks like John Skelton will be the starting QB for the Arizona Cardinals when they open their season September 9 against Seattle.
The quarterback carousel keeps on turning.

The Arizona Cardinals have one of the most talked-about quarterback competitions this preseason, and now, ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter has chimed in.

The Arizona Cardinals plan to start quarterback Kevin Kolb against the Oakland Raiders on Friday in their third preseason game. However , John Skelton is considered the favorite to win the job, people within the organization told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter on Tuesday.

Each player has started a preseason game for the Cardinals, with Kolb getting the nod against New Orleans in the Hall of Fame Game and Skelton taking the reins last Friday in Kansas City. Neither QB has performed all that well, with Kolb posting a rating of 11.1 and Skelton putting up a 39.2 rating.

Schefter's report comes as a bit of a surprise for two reasons. First, the simple fact that neither candidate has taken an upper hand in the competition. And secondly, because of the organization's financial commitment to Kolb. After dealing with the Philadelphia Eagles to obtain his services last summer, the Cardinals signed Kolb to a five-year, $63 million contract. The team also picked up a $7 million roster bonus in the offseason.

I dont agree with the "Surprise" comments
Its apparent Skelton has outplayed Kolb and is the lesser of two evils.

Kolbs contract was the biggest mistake
If not the biggest mistake wasnt to trade DRC and a 2nd rd pick for him. I told all ya'll from the get go that this was a huge mistake when the trade was complete. But all the Kolb supporters like AZSPORTSFAN, PatrickPetersonstalent, tennisgrandpa, mesa dude, and all the other Kolb supporters blasted me to shut up and stop posting. So I did... NOW IM BACK TO TOLD YOU THAT I TOLD YOU SO. I also said that Skelton IS the better QB. I was right back then and Im right now. Is Skelton the Cards future? Probably not. And I'm right about that too!

    Preseason Football has been garbage
Both qb's look like dump, but so does most of the league at this time. Thank you, CBA, for "looking out for the players" and probably giving us sloppy football for at least the first month. Anyone catch that gem of a game last night? Nice job, Romo.
