Could Cardinals have interest in Chris Cooley?

One of the latest to hit the streets is (now) former Redskins tight end Chris Cooley, who was released Tuesday after spending eight seasons in the nation's capital.
There are bound to be teams interested in the 30-year-old, who enters this season the owner of 428 receptions and 33 touchdowns throughout his career, but could the Arizona Cardinals be one of them?
NFL.com writer Gregg Rosenthal proposes as much, listing the Cards as one of six teams that could have interest in the veteran.
The Cardinals aren't afraid to give guys second chances. Jeff King and Todd Heap are atop their depth chart. Cooley is a better version of the same idea.
Rosenthal's reasoning is sound, you know, if you figure the Cardinals abide by the "no amount of tight ends is ever too many tight ends" theory that has never been practiced.
Because not only do the Cardinals have Heap and King on the roster, but they have promising second-year pro Rob Housler as well as Steve Skelton, too.
So in short, there is not exactly much of a need at the position for a guy who has missed 20 games over the last three seasons -- as Cooley has -- even if the Cards are fond of giving guys second chances.
