When it comes down to it, no one was likely more tired of the Arizona Cardinals quarterback controversy than receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

Fitz projected a sense of relief when he sat down with the media following Monday's practice.

"I'm just happy it's behind us and we don't have to answer that question every day," he said.

Fitz said that he respects head coach Ken Whisenhunt's decision and is ready to move forward with the season with Skelton at the helm.

"We're going to follow his lead and go into the trenches with him. We're going to fight it out," he said.

When it comes to now backup quarterback Kevin Kolb, Fitz said he's done everything right for himself and the team.

"It's a tough business. He's done everything right. He works hard everyday. He's here. He's committed to the cause," he said. "It's unfortunate."

Arizona Sports 620's Craig Grialou contributed to this report.

    Keep It Simple
Skelton doesn't need to make this complicated. Simply hand the ball off to Beanie and Williams and target Fitz most of the time. If Fitz is doubled, look for one of his other favorite targets, Andre Roberts. If nothing is open, throw the ball away. Let the Defense and Special Teams carry the load and win these games.

    Let me just say something
Fitz is the classiest athlete I have ever known. Not just on TV, but in life. What a professional, what an outstanding individual. I know I'm preaching to the choir, but so many diva receivers that are commonplace in today's NFL would be crying right now. Fitz always keeps it classy. He deserves a better QB and I'm hopeful we'll find one in next year's draft. Until then, we ef-ing love you Fitz and THANK YOU for being a true professional in every sense of the word.

...Been a NFL nut since I was a kid. I'm 43 now and have bought only 3 jerseys of any kind in my entire life. All 3 are #11.
