No one was quite sure how Kevin Kolb would play Sunday in Foxborough.

Getting his first start since last season -- and first as the replacement for an injured starter -- Kolb stepped up and led the Cardinals to a big win against a heavily-favored Patriots team.

The quarterback completed 15-of-27 passes for 140 yards, throwing one touchdown and no interceptions. He also ran for a score and fumbled once.

Cardinals head coach was pleased with the overall performance.

"Kevin did what we expected," he said Monday. "He played well. He made some good plays for us."

Whisenhunt said Kolb moved in the pocket well and made some checks at the line of scrimmage -- including one that led to his five-yard sneak into the end zone that gave the Cards a two-score lead -- that showed what the 28-year-old can do.

"He has a good feel for those things, and I thought he did a very good job," Whisenhunt said.

Good enough to earn another start, even if John Skelton is healthy enough to return to the field? That's not a question the coach has to answer until Skelton is fully recovered from the injury he suffered Week 1 against Seattle. As it stands, he has not been able to get back on the practice field, though that time could be nearing.

"It really depends on how he can do with the movement stuff, being able to push off the ankle," the coach said of Skelton's probability of returning. "We know he's getting closer, but until he can take a drop and move around in the pocket we won't know much."

    Don't agree...
Kolb managed the game, he didn't lead the team. Was he scared to take a shot down field? Was moving the offense through Todd Heap really the game plan? Plus, Kolb's accuracy is still terrible, he isn't making throws that NFL QB's are expected to make. He had Heap wide open for a TD and missed him and had LSH with pure daylight infront of him on a short screen and missed him. I will say, he didn't look as scared in the pocket

    People really hate Kolb
But the truth is, he was responsible for 14 of the 20 points scored yesterday. Can't hate on the scoreboard...

    Inaccurate
He is so inaccurate that it sticks out like a sore thumb. He missed on too many plays, including 2 that should have led to touchdowns instead of field goals. That does not a starting QB make.

    Kolb's gettin it together...
He didn't do anything to cost the game, did enough to contribute to the win. No matter what he does though, people are going to hate. If it was Skelton, people would be all over him. Its hilarious how people can be.

    Kolb best chance for Cards
Funny how all the Skelton lovers were stating that the team won with Skelton last year but when the team wins with Kolb, they look for reasons to hate. Fact is, Kolb is more accurate than Skelton. I don't know how many times I've seen Skelton sail a pass over the receivers head. 31.4% QB rating in the first game isn't good enough to get the Cards in the playoffs.

    Going back to Skelton...
would deflate some of the enthusiasm. I was for Skelton starting after watching Kolb in the preseason, but the last two games Kolb has looked much better. Kolb looks more comfortable in the pocket now and can do more with his feet and throw on the run. He did miss a couple opportunities (Heap TD and LSH screen), but overall he is improving.

    Also
Skelton does have more negative than Kolb. Kolb's game against NE would of been a great game for Skelton. Last season Skelton did have two pick six INTs (PHI), Two safeties in a row (STL), and a horrible game going 6/19 3 INTs (49ers). Skelton has thrown 3 INTs in 2 games, while Kolb has never thrown more than 2 INTs. The only thing Skelton had over Kolb was pocket presence, but that seems to be about even now.

my most important stat is winning
John has more wins than Kolb right now as a Cardinal. Irregardless of QB ratings, completion percentages, etc... John wins. The Cardinals have won the last 2 games. Not as 1 man alone. They've won as a whole team! I love Skeltons story. He's worked hard to get where he is at. I think Andy Reid is a better coach than Whiz, as far as, evaluating and putting together talent. That is why they both are struggling. I DON'T CARE WHO STARTS. BUT PLEASE. DO NOT. LET RAY HORTON GO. DEFENSES STILL WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS.
