Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett and his team are riding high after a thrilling 20-18 win over the New England Patriots.

Now 2-0, the Cardinals are starting to look like a playoff contender.

"I just want to get into the playoffs. Last two years going home in January ain't been cool," Dockett said. "My whole focus is trying to get this team in the tournament. If we can get in the tournament, anything can happen."

Dockett feels that selfless play by the defense is what makes his team work.

He claims he is "sacrificing everything for the team right now" and "not a guy on this team is thinking selfishly."

"If a guy had one tackle and we win a game, be happy with that one tackle," Dockett. "That is just another step closer to what we are trying to get in January and February."

Dockett said he has confidence in everyone he lines up with and always has.

"I think Rod Graves has done a great job at getting the right guys in here, guys that really want to play football and really want to win," Dockett said.

One player it may have been easy to lose confidence in is running back Ryan Williams, who fumbled the ball in a key situation and nearly cost the team the game.

However, Dockett said that he was glad the something like that happened to Williams because it gives him a chance to learn.

"He might be in that same exact situation this week where we have to get him the ball. I can almost guarantee that he is going to hold on to that ball next time," Dockett said. "I guarantee that is going to be in the back of his mind for the rest of his career."

William's fumble reminds me of a story I heard
where a crane tipped over and caused huge $ in damages. The operator wasn't fired though. His supervisor said it was because he now feels comfortable that will never happen again, whereas if he got someone new, he would still have to worry.

    Manbeast
DD is a manbeast and one of the best D linemen in the league. I'm glad we have him. @OpinionH8d: You have to take DD's comment in the context of it's nature. Don't compare apples and oranges by relating what someone says about a football play and an incident that happens in a different working atmosphere. Fumble are a part of football and happen in almost every game. Tipping a crane over isn't an every day occurence.

Chill out bro. Your not the sharpest tool in the shed... Know your role dogg. Now back on subject. Yes! AZ's defense is the perfect example of everyone doing their job and working as a team. Based on the way the offense played the last 2 games, they might be following the defenses lead. I can now say that with confidence. I don't want to lose Horton. If it came down to Horton or Whiz, id keep Horton. Bcuz he can teach and get the best out of his players. Whiz has struggled pre and post warner.

Nine-O leadership on the field says it all
Don't need to be a captain to lead as DD shows every Sunday. He has been a lot of fun for me personally to be able to watch over the last 8 years. Glad that the Cards hve never let him get away. @Fitzis my hero -- Stevie L, was spot on and did not attack Manbeast he merely pointed out that his analogy was a stretch. Maybe you should take your own advice and chill out. Your insults on intelligence after you just got through telling Stevie L to Chill shows that you are a hypocrite or that your insult actually applies to yourself.

    Dockett is the man
DOcket has been the most unselfish player in the Horton Scheme, it effected his personal stats more than anyone else but he continues to be a disruptive force. If he can stop missing those sacks he should be wrapping up on the guy is still going to be headed to the pro bowl. Absolutely love his play this year, Being unselfish is tough especially when you are used to "outplaying" every contract he has been given. well he is outplaying it again this time its just quieter deadlier and more effective, if you are a linebacker on this team you owe dockett dinner and a ring!
