John Skelton returned to practice Thursday.

The Arizona Cardinals quarterback, out since suffering a sprained ankle in the fourth quarter of a Week 1 win over the Seattle Seahawks, is working his way towards a return.

"He did some stuff at practice today," Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "It was good to see him working."

Skelton is listed on the injury report as having been "limited" Thursday, so whether or not he'll be ready to play Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles remains to be seen.

Should Skelton be able to play Sunday, Whisenhunt will have an interesting decision on his hands. Does he start Kevin Kolb, who led the Cardinals to a win last Sunday in New England, or does he go back to his Week 1 starter.

The coach doesn't have to make that call -- yet.

"We have to see if he's able to handle a practice before we can make any kind of decision like that," Whisenhunt said. "This is the first step in it and we'll see how it progresses [Friday]."

Skelton completed 14-of-28 passes for 149 yards and one interception in his only action of the 2012 regular season.

    Let him start...
Last year, when Kolb stunk up the world with his horrible play, everyone was like "just wait and see he'll come to...". Yea well, he's not the starter this year. Skelton is. He worked harder and played better than Kolb this preaseason. He shouldnt lose his job because of 0.75 of the 1st regular season game or a injury. He didnt even play bad against SEA. That play he got injured on, he converted a 3rd down to a 1st down (where Kolb is still struggling at). So its only fair to give him his chance because they gave Kolb his...

Im not arguing that Skelton is the better QB
Although I feel he is, Im Neutral on Kolb and Skelton. My point is, Skelton worked hard last year, this off season, and played better than Kolb in the pre season. He deserves to finish where he left off before this injury. If anything, we can go back to Kolb if he sucks too. Skelton was making good throws vs SEA. I wish he didnt get injured so I could have seen how he would have finished that game. He got injured right when he converted a 1st down!

    no im not crazy
I'm just undecided. I have a good reason to be. We have what looks to be like 1.75 good QB's (Kolb is about .75 of a QB)

    Hello??
He was limited today. He didn't practice with the first team. Do you want a cold QB who has a ankle ailment going into a game against the fast paced defense of the eagles? You guys are crazy

I've called this guy out from day 1. I've followed this character's quotes for way too long now. Do yourselves a favor and ignore his comments. He's not even a real fan.

Kolb a wise start this week.
I think Kolb should start to let Johns ankle fully heal, and to let Kolb do his thing against his old team.. why? Because he might know a little more about the defense and how they operate. I think Kolb needs to start this week. I'll be nervous if John starts, kolb is looking like he can hold it together this season. However I won't be convinced that he could start the rest of the season until he proves himself solid against the eagles. And then John has to lose his starting position there after.
