The Arizona Cardinals are rolling with Kevin Kolb under center.

The quarterback, who entered the season as the backup, has completed 38-of-59 passes for 428 yards and four touchdowns since replacing an injured John Skelton in the fourth quarter of a Week 1 win over Seattle.

Most figure it would be tough for Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt to give the starting job back to a healthy Skelton, at least with Kolb playing as well as he is.

That may indeed be the case, but we won't know for certain yet.

"I don't want to sound like a broken record, but until John's ready to play again there's nothing really new there, nothing to talk about," Whisenhunt said when asked about making a decision Monday.

That time may be nearing, though, as Skelton himself tweeted confidence in his health Monday afternoon.

Whisenhunt himself said the QB looks like he's getting close.

"He practiced in team at the end of the week last week," he said. "Until I see him really have to step and drive and throw it -- and do that in practice with guys around him -- you're not going to feel comfortable with him being ready to go."

Whisenhunt will have a decision to make when Skelton is healthy enough to play, but if Kolb keeps up his current pace it won't be a difficult one for the coach to make.

    im such a skelton fan
And if we were losing, id be all for him starting again. But u can't fix what isn't broken. Everyone (including) myself were looking for someone to step up and stand out. I didn't expect Kolb to, but he's playing good enough. Even me, being such a huge Skelton fan, would change QBs right now. If worst comes to worst we can go back to Skelton. Of course u don't want to do that bcuz the team might lose confidence in your decision making. But as now, the Cards have 2 QBs that can play well enough to win AND that's a good feeling.

    leader
i think the key that i like from Kolb is the leadership he was shown. I saw ryan williams talking about a "pep" talk he got from kolb after that fumble last week - thats the sort of things this team needs - a leader.

Still not getting a fair sample..
the interior of the O-line and the entire line in general is appalling. Whiz has made due with quick pass plays, play action, and screens. But intermediate and deep pass calls are still mostly called rarely for pass protect reasons. none of them can run block. imagine what this offense would look like if our talented RB's could do their thing. If all plays could be executed. You will never know what your QB's look like until then. It would still be Kolb, imo. This O-line can still hurt everything.

Skelton...go out there! You have got to be kidding. Okay he's got to say that to feel good but he was lucking to be out there in the first place. Pick up the clip board. I like Kolb but he needs to show durability Skelton might be called upon.

    What Contraversy?
One guy's hurt, the other guy is winning. Shouldn't be that hard.

Either way, I think we're fine
Wow, this is kind of a weird place to be in but I feel that we'll be fine with either guy playing. Both QBs have their strengths and weaknesses. I think the main thing right now is not to break the momentum that Kolb is establishing with the offense. The real test for everyone will be how we react (WHEN) Kolb has a bad game. Do we jump ship immediately and start calling for Skelton or chalk it up as a bad game?

I still like Skelton, but you don't mess with 3-0, keep Kolb in there.

    Why Skelton
Why???? This guy throws more picks than touchdowns, has erratic accuracy at best. Stands in the pocket yes, but that because his mobility is limited. Career accuracy is below 55%. He appears to be a bit "dull", 3rd year in the program and still calls no audibles. He doesn't win games, the defense does I think we can all see that now. IF all we had was Skelton you would see that.

    This is a non-issue
Kolb has had 3 tremendous wins. Why are people making it sound like we are talking about an established NFL QB losing his job to injury (like Drew Bledsoe once did)? This is John freaking Skelton. A 5th round pick out of Fordham. A guy with a career completion percentage of 52%. A guy with a QB rating of 65.8. Come on, man. Compare those stats to Kolb's. The, "Skelton wins and Kolb doesn't", argument is irrelevant now after these first 3 great wins.
