What a difference a month makes for the Cardinals' Kevin Kolb.

At this time in August, Kolb was on the losing end of the starting quarterback competition with John Skelton. He was being booed every time he hit the field, even in preseason. He had become a common punch line for every talking head around the city.

Now, he's the starter once again. His team is one of only three in the NFL to begin the 2012 season 3-0. He's coming off a two-touchdown performance against his former team. And on Thursday, the six-year veteran welcomed a new addition to his family.

Kolb's wife was originally expected to give birth next Thursday. Ordinarily that wouldn't have been a problem, except the Cardinals are scheduled to play a rare prime time game against the Rams on the NFL Network.

In addition to newborn Saylor, the Kolbs have two other daughters, Kamryn June and Atley Rose, born in Jan. 2009 and April 2010.

Probably one of the few who supported Kolb through everything. Congrats to him. He deserves it.

I'll keep the snide comments about "whimsical" American naming conventions to myself for now... Best of luck to the Kolb family. May the new addition come with many years of happiness.

Lets welcome the beautiful baby girl
with a 3 TD performance on Sunday, or just a win. I'll take that first and foremost.
