Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb left Sunday's loss to the Bills with just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter with a chest injury.

Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt said after the game Kolb would get X-rays to see if there was a problem, and Monday the coach said things appear to be fine. Mostly.

"Results came back negative for his ribs and his sternum," Whisenhunt said of the X-rays. "We're getting an MRI done on him [Monday] just to make sure there's not something that we're missing, but we'll get the results back later on that."

Whisenhunt went on to say Kolb was "pretty sore this morning, which you would expect," but added that the QB was moving around.

As for Kolb's availability moving forward, Whisenhunt said nothing can be determined until the full extent of the player's injury is known. If he is unable to go Sunday against the Vikings John Skelton, who was the starter when the season began until losing the job after getting hurt, would take over.

People wondered what Whisenhunt would do once Skelton was healthy enough to play, but with Kolb hurt the decision may have been made for him. QB controversy solved, or merely postponed?

"I don't think we have to make any decisions like that," Whisenhunt said. "It's very early for us to even talk about that right now."

    Thank goodness...
I still have hope the cardinals can pull the season out and make the playoffs. If Kolb sits out I might as well plan for next season.

    If there were any questions...
about who the starting QB for this team should be, they were answered on Sunday. Kolb was somehow able to find his groove behind that poor excuse for and O-Line. Then Skelton came in and stunk it up for a 2 completions in 10 attempts finish. "QB controversy" over.

Kolb was always the better QB
The only thing that kept him back was his mental game. He either looked skiddish or uneasy, which was most likely a direct result of not knowing the system. It took him longer than most thought, but he is past that. There is a reason John Skelton went to Fordham, and Kolb went to Houston and was named Conference USA MVP. A reason Skelton was drafted in the 5th round and Kolb in the second. Skelton is big, but inaccurate at best and in the NFL that just doesnt cut it.

Skelton is a project at best
It would be inaccurate to say that one cant improve to become good enough. Those kind of success stories are few and far inbetween. Kolb is one of them... He was 2-6 last year and then 4-0 this year. They lost the last 2 games because of offensive bloopers. Some coming from Kolb, some from the WRs, and most from the O Line. I liked how Kolb bombed it out to Roberts down the seam (but Roberts dropped it). Even though it was in traffic, thats a catch all #2 WRs should make. Theres a lot of dropped balls. Kolb is putting them in a spot for the WRs to make plays but theyre dropping them.

We all know about the O Line
I liked how AZ ran the ball, but, it was against the worst defense in the NFL! The Cards beat themselves. It was a decent offensive performance against the worst defense in the NFL. That my friends, is a little concerning. This team is so far from being a force offensively. It sucks because the defense is championship ready now. Plus this might be Ray Horton's last year! But the offense cant get their crap together and score TDs. They score like 1 or 2 TDs (2 if theyre lucky) and the rest are FGs. Thats not going to cut it against any body, especially, teams that can score 3-5 TDs a game.
