Contrary to a Sunday report, the Arizona Cardinals don't have a workout scheduled with free agent quarterback Vince Young Tuesday.

ESPN, who originally reported the two sides would get together this week, communicated with Pro Football Talk that the earlier report was inaccurate.

Young, the third overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, is a free agent after being cut by the Buffalo Bills in training camp. The 29-year-old spent five years with the Tennessee Titans and then signed a free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2011 season.

During his career, Young has thrown for 8,964 yards with 46 touchdowns and 51 interceptions and has compiled a 31-19 mark as a starter.

    Pretty Sad...
Pretty sad that people were disappointed in the news that Vince Young wasn't working out for the Cardinals. Just goes to show how dismal the QB play has been because Young sucks. Remember the Texas/USC Rose Bowl with Leinart and Young? Holy Cow that should have been called the Overrated Bowl

    Right now
I honestly think Young would be a stepup over what we have. I fully expect them to just ressign Bartel though - he couldnt be signed until this week because he was an injury released player. Side note - one of the funniest things I have read in the past few weeks was a fan suggesting we put Russ Grimm or Mike Miller out there for a week to let them see how it feels to take the beating they have put Skelton and Kolb through.

    I agree
Young isn't a great QB, but mesa mad man is absolutely right. He's a step up! We will never have a Manning, Brees or Brady. They won't come to AZ BECAUSE we can't be a winning team. I don't know how close we came to having Peyton a few months back, but Bidwell shoulda pried open his wallet a bit more! Then we wouldn't HAVE to look toward unemployed QBs that are better than our ones who actually have a job. But until we can lure Rogers, Rivers or a Manning bro to the valley, we have to look where re players are available!

    Vince Young
Come on passing with more interceptions than touchdowns! We don't need more mediocre quarterbacks. However we do need more veteran and capable offensive tackels.

Young is NOT a step up
Young was cut from the Bills because he had trouble getting the offense down. Do you really think he'll be able to pick up Whiz's complicated schemes in time to do any good? Or even at all?

QB not a big need right now...
Even tho you all have good points about the QB situation we need help where it matters RIGHT NOW. And thats not at QB, it's on the OL. Both of our QBs have already showen they can move the ball and win games. It's the line that needs fixing and fixing NOW. And now Snyder is hurt, we def need someone in there to fix this line. You can have a Manning, Brees, or Brady but it does no good to have a line that doesn't protect him or open holes to get the running game going. Which hasn't happened for either situation.

Cards fans are a step down!
These comments are insane from some of you! How can you same the Cards will never be a winning team? It dont matter who you put back there at qb if you have no time to throw (See ARRON RODGERS in week 3 against Seattle) then they got smart and put the an extra blocker back there and now he is back to being the best in the league. Kolb could be our guy if he just gets time but until we finnally draft our needs there we may never know!

I think only one person said the Cards wouldnt be a winning team without an MVP caliber QB. I do not think its a stretch saying Young would be a step up over what we have, not because he is more talented (I still would prefer Kolb), but because he does have the ability to escape from pressure and keep the blitz honest by using his feet.
