Three field goal attempts ago, Arizona Cardinals kicker Jay Feely was the toast of the town.

In his third year with the team, Feely had just made a franchise-record 61-yard field goal to tie the game late against the Buffalo Bills.

He had made 11 of his last 12 attempts, and gained a reputation for being one of the more clutch kickers in the game.

Then Feely got a chance to win the game just a couple minutes later, only his 38-yard attempt was tipped at the line before hitting the goalpost. The Cardinals eventually lost in overtime.

Feely missed another field goal attempt the next week, a 47-yard try at the end of the first half against the Vikings, and now it appears the Cardinals may have had enough.

According to reports confirmed by Arizona Sports' Paul Calvisi, the team worked out free agent kicker Josh Brown Tuesday.

Brown, 33, most recently kicked for the St. Louis Rams. He made just 21 of 28 field goal attempts last season, and the team decided to go in a different direction. He joined the New York Jets for training camp this year, but the team decided to stick with incumbent Nick Folk.

For his career, which spans nine seasons with the Rams and Seattle Seahawks, Brown has made 80.9 percent of his field goals and 99.3 percent of his extra points.

    Whiz
Whiz does have a thing about kickers and punters. They do always seem to kill momentum when they miss a kick though. Just wish Coach was more demanding of the TE position and who can play hurt.

    Feely is not the problem.
Let me know when they start working out tackles and guards.

Really ? Of all the issues the Cards have they hone in on Feely. I guess its easy to point a finger at a kicker, but I call bogus on this !

    Jake Scott
Bobinchandler (I live in Chandler!) so aptly states that we should be bringing in offensive line help. I understand that Jake Scott is sitting at home watching football on T.V.. Why in the world is he not in a Cardinal's uniform? I know that we also need tackles, but his addition would be a great step in the right direction. All of these rumors about Vince Young and the press it received is non-story material compared with the potential signing of Jake Scott. Additionally, we need to bring in some offensive line coaches for tryouts.

    Easy Decision
At The Very Least Feely Needs A Fire Lit Under His Butt. He Needs To Quit Bein Concerned With Patrick Petersons Launch On Punt Returns And Tackling Kick Returners And Get His Mind Right. This has been a problem He's Missed A Few Huge FGs In His Days In Az. I Wouldnt Let Him Be Too Comfy Either. We Were Known For Surprise On Side Kicks With Rackers I Assume Whiz And Spencer Have No Faith In Feelys On Side Abilities As Well. Special Teams Mean The World Of A Difference In Close Games. Harvin Had A TD Called Back To Start The Game Cuz Feely Couldnt Get A Touchback

    What?
Feely is a gamer. He got an unnnecessary roughness penalty I think it was a couple of games ago. For the most part he is good. He is not the problem we should be trying to fix. Makes no sense to me. Lets look at the offensive line coach. Ken's buddy Russ.

    Kicker? Really?
I agree with some of the others, a kicker should be on their wish list, not their to-do list. The worst O-line in football is worrying about a pretty good kicker who had admittedly missed a winning field goal - but also kicked a 61 yard one to get them in position to win? If the anemic offense would score touchdowns, then those "critical" field goals aren't an issue - certainly much less so. It is glaringly obvious that bad decisions were made by not upgrading the O-line - especially when the QB position is weak already. Come on Cardinals - who do you think you're fooling?

    he stinks!!
people that are unemployed try harder. If he had made the field goal against the Bills, Skelton would have much more confidence. Maybe he should remove all of his gloves and other garmits.
