The NFL, due largely to its 16-week regular season, is the ultimate "what have you done for me lately?" league in professional sports.

When things are going well, as they did for the Arizona Cardinals during the first four weeks of the 2012 season, it's easy to mask potential problems.

When things go south, however, covering up those problems becomes a much more arduous task.

During the Cardinals' current four-game losing streak, a litany of issues between the white lines have been exposed, whether it's a lack of pass protection, consistency in the run game or personnel depth.

But now met with a hard dose of adversity, Ken Whisenhunt and Co. are presented with two paths heading into the second half of their schedule. The Redbirds can either allow their glaring on-field issues to seep into the locker room causing internal turmoil or unite around a common goal to get back to winning football.

In order to follow the latter path, though, Whisenhunt admits it requires strong leadership from the experienced members of his squad.

Whether they have it or not, well, the head coach didn't sound so sure speaking with Arizona Sports 620's Doug & Wolf Tuesday.

"Well, you know we'll find out," Whisenhunt said when asked about whether the Cardinals have the type of veteran presence to climb out of their mid-season hole. "I think we have a bunch of good young men, a bunch of good veterans and a bunch of good young players."

Although the six-year head coach was somewhat noncommittal on the topic of his team's makeup and their ability to bounce back from a rather futile month of football, Whisenhunt was adamant that he still believes his players have the same desire to succeed as they did four or five weeks ago.

listen Listen: Ken Whisenhunt, Arizona Cardinals Head Coach
Ken Whisenhunt comes on to talk to Doug and Wolf following a tough loss on Monday night, as he gets ready for a tough match-up coming up with Green bay. Ken tells us the biggest thing that contributed to the loss on Monday night. Plus, Coach Whisenhunt clears up any miscommunication that may have occurred from Darnell Docket's post-game comments. And, Coach Whis tells us what the Cardinals will need to do in order to beat the Packers in Lambo this Sunday.

"They want to win," said Whisenhunt. "Look, we're hurting too. I know our fans are upset, but don't think for a minute that our players and our coaches aren't upset and that we aren't hurting."

Unfortunately, the Cardinals don't have much time to lick their wounds following Monday night's 24-3 blowout loss to San Francisco. Next up for Arizona is a weekend trip up to historic Lambeau Field and a date with reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers and the streaking Green Bay Packers.

    Talk is cheap...
the number one reason they have lost 4 in a row is the line. You can say this needs to improve or that. ITS the line. Looking for "leaders", "they want to win" and hurting coaches are not words that make me want to fly 1000 miles to see a game or continue my Direct TV NFL package. The line has been an issue since Whisenhunt arrived and rode Kurt Warner for 5 years of ineffective coaching after the Superbowl. It is time for a coaching change. NO MORE TALK. I felt this way during the 4 game win streak, but held my tongue. The line is enough to warrant firing someone.

    B.S. with a bow.
This team was built by MGMT. It is and has always been their fault. Its time to take some accountability. Its starts with Billy, then Rod, then Ken, then the remainder of the coaches and talent evaluators. You know what i would like to see...WINS and a stop to the marketing propaganda. Sorry guys, but your management staff cant do better than .500 in a monopoly! And you want to blame the players? 40 year losers and running! AZ isn't Pittsburgh west, its Cleveland West. The housecleaning needs to start at the top, too bad the fans cant fire Billy!

    Whiz is at least rational
I am like most fans and I am irrational and want Cards to make drastic changes when they are losing (Tackle, QB), but it usually makes it worse. Look at Dennis Green and the emotional QB changes he made that made the season worse. It is nice to have a coach who doesn't make emotional decisions and really does play the best players available. There are not any better tackles on the roster or off the street and teams don't trade quality lineman. If we can trade for OT McKinnie that would be great, but that is probably the only shot at a lineman. Whiz is to blame for lack of o-lineman drafting.

    No bow on this one.
Mr Bill doesnt run the show anymore its Michael. The org is ran alot better since then and has some of the highest payed players in the NFL. I do agree there needs to be a shakeup in the talent evauation, GM, and coaches in general. I dont think the bow tie is to blame on this one.

    cleveland west!
Agree cardpowers and thinkforurself. It further frustrated me he's indirectly asking for sympathy and still directing the blame away from himself.everything these players know, they learn it from Whiz. Obviously, they look like they don't know squat. I seriously think the Cards should call Bill Parcells. He turned the dolphins from 0-16 to 8-8 with Chad Pennington. They drafted Jake Long and brought in R. Williams and R. Brown. He's a great talent evaluator and believes in run 1st and pass 2nd. What r they waiting for.

    Skelton
Coaches keep saying he is not accurate with passes. My question is what is he doing during the off season and the regular season?? It is called practice!! That is how you get better! Maybe Skelton has such a big head he thinks he is Hall of Fame ready but he sure does stink!

    ridiculous
I like the talent we have with the exception of quarterback. They are not working together and i don't know whos fault that is. The defense gave up. There was absolutely no offense. There wasn't a game. You know the fans are dissapointed but you don't do anything about it. It's been the same story since Kurt's wife made him leave. Thank god they are better than they were and i give some responsibility to whisenhunt for that however something absolutely needs to change. We do have an awful lot of injuries unfortunately but there is not back up. ridiculous
