Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells, who has been sidelined since suffering a turf toe injury in a Week 3 win over Philadelphia, was activated Wednesday from the injured reserve/designated to return list.

To make room for Wells on the roster, the Cardinals released linebacker Jamaal Westerman.

Wells had just 76 yards on 29 carries this season before suffering the injury.

The fourth-year pro returns to the field in time to face the St. Louis Rams, the same team he set the Cardinals' franchise single-game rushing record against last season. Wells had 228 yards on 27 carries in Arizona's 23-20 win at the Edward Jones Dome last November 27.

    It's another disappointing year,
The Cardinals have had one problem after another. Year after year they chase the ring but they do not want to pay for the player they cannot be imaginative with their salaries. If they had then we would have a front line, and a champion QB. Peyton Manning should have never left the training facility in July. The first three picks in the draft should have been Offensive linemen. Michael Bidwell is just cheap as his old man was, and as long as we keep buying out his stadium and supporting his crappy team he will not invest to make it a winner.
