Darnell Dockett has reportedly been fined six figures for his involvement in last Sunday's on-field argument with safety Kerry Rhodes (AP File Photo).
Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett insisted this week that he and safety Kerry Rhodes were just fine following their highly-publicized, on-field argument in the team's 7-6 loss to the New York Jets last Sunday.

Unfortunately for Dockett, the organization apparently wasn't as content to simply move on from the situation.

The fine will be the fourth of Dockett's career.

In 2011, he incurred a $15,000 fine for a late hit on former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Mike Williams. In 2010, he was docked $5,000 for using Twitter less than 90 minutes before kick-off in the team's Week 1 win over the St. Louis Rams. Six weeks later, Dockett was again forced to open his check book for $7,500 dollars after pressing his elbow in the neck area of then-Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselback.

According to NFL.com's Albert Breer, Dockett's latest fine will be far more substantial -- costing the defensive end $200,000 or 5.8 percent of his base salary in 2012.

If the team hands down any sort of in-game suspension, it would be the first of its kind in the three-time Pro Bowler's career.

Dockett was last suspended in college for Florida State's 2003 Sugar Bowl Game against Georgia.

But from the looks of it, we might not have heard the last from Dockett on this situation.

He tweeted this out Friday night:

    maybe ...
those six figures include the cents. Dockett makes $3.4 million plus incentives, but $100k or more seems way too steep for something like this! Is this because he went against the coach's call and tried on the play?

include the cents! Wow! $200K. Dockett is right: time to file a grievance. This can't only be from the run-in with Rhodes.

    Must be crazy!
I think a fine of that amount is rediculous. It's one thing to fine for insubordination, but that's excessive. I think this will send the wrong message. This kind of thing really make me think they have no clue what they are doing over there. Making an example out of dockett is a joke. I'm a whiz supporter but this has me shaking my head in disgust. Can I fine the cards for that pathetic game I watched?

Thank DD, we have a better chance this week!
Whiz is just pissy that his bad call to stick with Lindley didn't work. Dockett did us all a favor saving us from watching the offense one more time, and this week Skelton is starting which gives us a "Better chance to win". Could you imagine if Lindley pulled some magical play out of his --- and we had won in the final seconds? Lindley would be start this Sunday. Dockett gave the Cards the "Best" chance to win in this week. Something our beloved coach hadn't done in the last three. Thanks DD!! D Moore

    Ridiculous
what more can I say? This isn't helping the current situation (talking about the heavy fine). Just adding powder to the keg. I've been a fairly staunch supporter of Whiz but I between DA signing, leaving Lindley in that game with the Jets and now this he has lost almost all control of himself...and the team to follow. I hope I'm wrong but man is this guy stubborn. I bet he becomes a better coach in his second go-around, if he gets a chance.

    fine?
Dockett gets fined? What about the coach for not making a change at QB to give the team a chance to win? Who is next to get fined Fitz for not catching a TD pass that was never thrown to him? Sorry but this coach has lost the team.
