Coaching the Cardinals has been an incredible and rewarding experience and I will always be grateful to Mr. Bidwill, Michael and Rod for giving me that opportunity back in 2007.

I'm very proud of what we as a team and as an organization achieved during that time. Collectively we accomplished some very special and unprecedented things. That's a testament to the dedication, hard work and talent of so many coaches, players and people throughout the organization.

But we all understand this business and when you don't win enough games changes are made. That doesn't mean it's easy but you definitely don't have to look far to find people that have it much worse.

I want to especially thank Cardinals fans who treated my family and me so well and made our time in Arizona so special.

While this chapter ends for us, we are hopeful that the ones ahead of us will be as enriching as this one has been.

    Tough Break
Whiz was on the verge of returning to his Cards Coach ledgendary status with that 4-0 start this season. The reality was as they alluded to on 620 Sports that his crisis management skills were lacking which turned out to be his downfall. Not being able to replace Warner, arguably mismanging Leinart situation, not responding well to Oine, Running backs, Tight End and QB injuries this season that decimated the team's Offense. We will always remember his first 3 years fondly including coming within mintues of winning an Superbowl. Thanks Whiz!

    Best of Luck
Not sure I agree with the decision, but I do see why it was made. Business unfortunately is business, thats the great country that we live in. Best of luck in the future - I am sure Whiz will land on his feet somewhere

    Good riddance
Ever since Kurt Warner bailed out Rod Graves and Ken Whisenhunt, their inability to draft, scout, recruit, sign and coach an offense has been on continual display. I haven't crunched numbers at seasons end but at week 12 of the season there were 9 individual QBs with more passing yards than Cardinals total offense, and 9 running backs with individual rushing yards higher than the Cards rushing attack. This is a testament to just how poorly the offense responded under Whiz and his staff.

    Not sure
This is the best move, no doubt mistakes were made, unforeseen injuries at QB. But the most obvious let down is the Offensive Line, what a joke, Beanie, good riddance, but where do they go from here? If they can hire John Gruden, great call, but let him have total personnel control.

    We'll see
...it's easy to think we are better off, but only time will tell. This team doesn't have a QB, and it's not an attractive job. Whiz will get his $5M, which means less $$ for a new coach. Horton is not a lock...he'll get offers from teams with a better QB situation. Best of Luck to Whiz, he will likely land at a good situation. Thanks for all of the hard work!

    I dunno
Be careful what you wish for Cardinal fans. Obviously the last 3 years have been brutal and some changes had to be made. The offense has been god awful since Kurt Warner left. We have no O Line and horrible QB play. It was Graves job to bring in the talent... and he failed miserably. Not sure but I would have given Whisenhunt a chance with a new GM. Either way Whisenhunt is a quality coach and a total professional.... some team is going to get themselves a good coach.
