Well so much for Andy Reid to Arizona.

According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora, the former Eagles coach is set to become the boss in Kansas City.

La Canfora meant to say it was "now imminent", which he tweeted out shortly after.

It's a somewhat stunning turn of events if only for the fact that as of Tuesday it was being reported that Reid was all but certain to be taking the Arizona job. However, the most high-profile coach on the market reportedly had a good interview with the Chiefs Wednesday, and decided to cancel scheduled visits to Arizona and San Diego.

Though Reid may (or may not) have been their top choice, the Cardinals can now turn their attention to current defensive coordinator Ray Horton, who they have interviewed twice already, Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, who they are scheduled to chat with this weekend, and Pittsburgh offensive coordinator Todd Haley, who the Cardinals have asked for permission to talk to.

No matter where they go, Arizona Sports 620's Kyndra de St. Aubin is reporting the Cardinals will not be conducting interviews Thursday.

    Hire Horton
Other than Reid I think Horton is the best choice. Look what Horton has done with the "D" in 2 years. He is a smart coach who will hire the right people and the players love to play for him. He will bring the intensity to the Offense side of the ball.

    The Cardinals...
..are rarely taken seriously it seems. Some things never change, but at least Peyton Manning showed up at the airport!

I would like to turn the conversation over to potential offensive cooridnators. Who could get the most out of this team? Looking through some names, what about Hue Jackson (led some good raiders offenses recently), or mornhinweg. Assuming he doesnt follow read (sounds like Shurmur would), he could be the guy to maximize Kolb for us. another possibility would be Al Saunders (currently with the raiders as well). He has had some pretty electric seasons - his days in KC come to mind - and is a pretty creative play designer

    Bamboozeled...again
funny, he took our 2nd round pick & our non-tackling cb for a brittle QB, and now he just pulled another one on Bidwell directly. You can't help but laugh a little.

    Same report...
that had Reid all but signed with the Cards a few days ago? What a joke. These 'reports' have little merit and the guys putting out the tweets....errrr, reports don't give a rats behind if they are correct or not. It's no skin of their backs. Eventually they will be right as the pool dwindles down. Anyhow, hire Horton if Reid signs elsewhere.

Arguably the best Active QB coach
in the NFL right now. Why wouldnt he come to AZ to re-unite with his former "Good enough to be a NFL starter anywhere" Q.B. Kevin Kolb? I know that KC may have a little bit more talent on the offensive side of the ball, but, we have the better QB... Right? Andy, right? HAHA! Listen, this means Horton is HC, and, although he and Bidwill havent given up on Kolb, THEY NEED A PLAN B. I agree that he gives this team the best chance to win, but, his injury proneness is VERY CONCERNING.

    Kevin Kolb?
It might not mean anything, but, Kolb not being enticing or convincing enough for Reid to re-unite with him here in AZ behind a stout defense is very concerning to me. I would like to hear from Reid why that wasnt good enough for him to at least come for a interview. Whether he's confident in Kolb or not, I think once Horton upgrades the O Line, RBs, and TEs it will help Kolb tremendously. We still need a plan B QB just in case Kolb goes down for 3/4 of the year again... But if the O Line and Run Game are intensive like our D, any QB will good behind them!

The reason if it's true that Reid won't be coming here isn't because of Kolb. It's because Andy has to have FULL control of everything in which KC will give him and AZ will not.

I would stray so far away from anything even remotely having anything to do with the Raiders anything. I wouldn't even accept a bag of used footballs from that organization. They've got nothing we want.
