Okay, what's going on?

Wednesday morning, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reported that the Arizona Cardinals had requested to interview Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley for their head coaching job, but Haley was happy with his job, and didn't want to go anywhere else.

Hours later, Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweeted this:

Rapoport also tweeted a quote from Haley's agent, Jerome Stanley.

And then had a short commentary on Bouchette's report.

So, which is it? There has been no comment from any Cardinals personnel.

Arizona has been seeking a head coach since December 31, when they fired Ken Whisenhunt following a 5-11 season.

Haley served as the Cardinals offensive coordinator from 2007 to 2008.

Defensive coordinator Ray Horton has interviewed for the job, as has Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden is scheduled to be interviewed later this week.

    Two Things
@sundevil7901 - I dont really think Haley is yanking the Cardinals around. It sounds to me like no one in his camp is giving accurate accounts and reporters are just trying to be first to report everything. @azcardsfan40 - while I agree I dont really want to lose Horton, but how many teams are seriously threatening to take him away this season. Two he interviewed with (KC and Buffalo) have already hired other people. Most teams are after offensive guys.

    Horton
Ray Horton is an intelligent, innovative, motivating, leader of men. He has produced big time. I would have hired him already. The players love and play all out for him. Of all the candidates available I think that he's the hungriest. Those that question his ability on offense should understand that he will hire a quality offensive coordinator because he is smart enough to know his limitations are whatever they may be.

    Just thinking out loud
anyone stop to think that maybe Horton is already been given the nod and Haley is actually here talking to him about the OC gig that is why everything is so hush hush, cuz the Steelers have to release him from his duties before there can be a lateral move. That would also explain why they are already talking to Juan Castillo as well. Just something to think about

    Hire Horton!
We could have a diamond in the rough with Horton, if we hadn't had him last year we would have been 0 and 16. I love Haley but if its this hard to get him to take an interview obviously he wants to continue to coach fathead. Horton has earned it, bring in Norv Turner and oh yeah Phillip Rivers loves him. Could there be a possibility of a trade and we are right back in this thing. HIRE HORTON!!!!!

    No more Haley talk
Please just stop already, this guy is not the answer by any means. Let's move on completely, hire Horton, & let him start building a staff to prepare for FA & the draft.
