The Arizona Cardinals need a new defensive coordinator, and one may be one the way, according to CBS NFL insider Jason LaCanfora.

Bowles, who finished the 2012 season as the defensive coordinator in Philadelphia, has been rumored to be joining new Cardinals coach Bruce Arians' staff in Arizona.

    Terrific
Under Bowles, the Eagles finished the season ninth in pass defense (while consistently giving up big plays) and twenty-third in rushing defense. The team sacked the opposing quarterback twenty times less than the 2011 season and generated only thirteen takeaways. The Eagles went just 1-9 with Bowles as defensive coordinator, giving up an average of 31.9 points per game .....Oh boy can't wait for season to start

    Defense better be good
If the D Unit regresses at all, Arians and Bowles will get their you know whats booed off the field! When the Cards had decent QB play early past.season, the pretty much shut down Seattle, New England and Philly. I expect these guys to have similar success out of the gate even with a marginal QB.

    our defense will suck
when bowles is hired, they will change r defense from a 3-4 to a 4-3 and as a result r d will suck again for the next couple of years. the players we have were all drafted to play in the 3-4. we do not have the big guys up the middle which will be needed. so now we will have to spend draft picks on those types of players. this whole things just suck. way to go bidwells. everyone knows u limited what wiz was able to do when it came to getting line men and the qb he wanted. way to go. wiz and horton r now much better off. and we az fans r still stuck with the bidwells

    Its the players
The Defense was not that good last year, the players made up for it, it was not the plays being called. To be good in the NFL you have to stop the run and stop the big play both they have issues with. The stat I do like was the Qb rating vs the cards. No one plays a base Defense any more they switch it up 4-3, 3-4, cover2, man, zone. Even if they do go to a 4-3 the outside LineBackers they have all played DE is school so getting them to put thier hand on the grouond again wont be hard, move 90 back to the middle.Hmm kinda like that, Campbell and Dockett on the same .

And you know this how? What says our D will regress? Did you watch the games last year. D wasn't that great. Media hyped them up quite a bit. Look at most of the scores against the Cards last year. We created turnovers, but didn't stop them from scoring points. Individual players create turnovers, not defensive schemes. Not saying Horton wasn't good, but the Eagles D was 15th in the league last year, we were 12th. People need to give Bowles a chance.

    NEW DC?
Todd Bowles a ex-saftey won a super bowl with Washington. Appears to be good secondary coach not alot of experience as a DC. He does inherite a good defense (12th in NFL, 5th in Pass defense). He must improve run defense. Hope players will accept him as they did with Horton... Just might be another Horton :)
