Daryl Johnston talks to Doug and Wolf about the succes of the Harbaugh brothers, and who will have the upper hand in the Super Bowl.

Bruce Arians was brought on as the new Arizona Cardinals head coach because of his leadership, quarterback prowess and ability to get the most out of the talent on his roster.

One FOX NFL analyst believes the Cardinals' decision to bring Arians into the fold was a smart move, and one that should pay dividends going forward.

"I think it's good. I really do," Daryl Johnston told Arizona Sports 620's Doug & Wolf Monday. "You're talking about a guy who had a big impact on what Indianapolis did in his time there. I know that Peyton Manning has the utmost respect for him. I think it's a good move."

With the addition of Arians came a bounty of changes to the Cardinals' coaching staff. The team supported Arians' decision to choose his own staff, which has begun to take shape with the official hirings of three assistant coaches.

Arians hired Todd Bowles as defensive coordinator, Harold Goodwin as offensive coordinator and Tom Moore as assistant head coach/offensive coordinator.

Johnston trusts Arians brought the right personnel in, especially on the offensive side, to help the Cardinals rectify some troublesome areas from a disappointing 2012 campaign.

"I think that Bruce Arians has done a tremendous job for some very, very difficult circumstances in Indianapolis this year filling in for coach Pagano," Johnston said. "I think [the Cardinals] got a good one. You're building a good foundation out there. You got to get a couple of positions sorted out, get the guys headed in the right direction but I think Tom Moore will be one of those guys if it helps facilitate that transition."

The 74-year-old Moore has a bevy of experience, beginning his career as an NFL assistant in 1977. He also served as the offensive coordinator for the Colts in 1998-2000 when Arians was the team's quarterback coach.

    Who gives a crap?
Is it the same "Insider" who talked of the 95% probability of Reid or perhaps the one who said Bill, Tom and the boys would make short work of the Ravens? Who really cares what these "Talking Heads" think any more. What a crock ESPN is. When will true fans come to their senses and stop supporting this mega-empire of supposed Sports and Entertainment.

These guys are only giving their opinion. You don't have to accept it. They aren't forcing you to either. I thought the pats would beat the ravens too. They didn't. Oh well. This guy isn't even ESPN. He is from Fox.

    I also care
I like to see what different analysts around the NFL,, be it FOX, NFL Network or ESPN, have to say about the Cardinals and their coaching/player acquisitions. The "true fans" will probably never come to their sense in your eyes because they care what EVERYONE has to say about their team.

    I'm warming up to Arians
BUT, I serious reservations about what Michael and Keim did. Let's say these lifer assistants actually have a clue on offense, let's see what they do to get a QB and some OL's in here who can protect said QB while not getting pushed 3 yards into their own backfield every time they try to run. Then Horton being replaced by Bowles? That screams downgrade- bigtime. Not to mention how they treated Horton. That was an embarrassment and a disgrace and disrespectful.

    @ Tom S (also, I care)
Come off it man. They interviewed Horton (along with 2 other teams) and he wasn't good enough. He didn't have half the staff Arians has. Big Ben loves Arians, Peyton loves Arians, Tom Moore thought enough of him to join his staff. Also, Horton wasn't that good of a defensive coordinator. That D still gave up HUGE plays. Do some homework. Horton had us at 12th best in the league; Bowles had Philly at 15th best. Not a big drop off. Horton interviewed twice and wasn't good enough. Plain and simple. The Cards made the right hire.

    Arians & Horton
I'm really starting to like what Arians is doing with his coaching staff. Wasn't sure at first but he seems to know what he's doing. Only the end product will tell but so far I like it. You can all say what you want about Horton but he had his chance. I honestly don't think Horton was treated unfairly at all, he didn't have the right staff to bring along with him which eventually cost him the HC job. The Cardinals defense was good but not great ..... The Cardinals need offense and hopefully Arians will bring that to the team..... I also believe the defense will be just as good or better ...

    Arians has the job,
now give him a chance to do it the way he sees fit!! I don't like the way the Cardinals held on to Horton and tried to force him on Arians, but I am sure over it...Arians did the right thing by not keeping Horton, it could not work, I respect him for being truthful about the situation. Bowles did a decent job when he was in Miami and we need to give him a chance. It is obvious that Horton was not the right guy for a number of jobs and I think he is okay with the 8 million and four years in Cleveland...LOL

    Exactly!!
Horton asked to be released after he was upset as to why he didn't get the job! The funny thing is he didn't get the Cleveland job either but he sure signed with them to be their new DC! Ray has a lot to learn still but we wish him the best!

Mike Florio has something against the Cards.
Looks like the Cards HC hire is being nationally touted as a good pick up for the org. Outside of Mike Florio, who seems to hate the Cardinals (Punk). Anyway, its good to see this from analysts, but at the end of the day, the results will tell the tale. Trolls need not respond.
