It's no secret the Arizona Cardinals have a glaring need at the quarterback position and will likely evaluate all avenues in their search for a signal caller this offseason.

According to profootballtalk.com, the Cardinals are expected to target a quarterback in the early stages of free agency.

While it is still unknown who they will go after, the options appear limited at the position.

But, according to the report, the Cardinals could be waiting for Carson Palmer to become available.

Palmer is due $13 million next year and it is believed the Raiders will release him if he doesn't take a pay cut.

Oakland could also opt to restructure Palmer's deal and then trade him to net a draft pick in return, instead of releasing him and getting no compensation.

Palmer threw for 4,018 yards and 22 touchdowns with 14 interceptions last season.

    Maybe
This could work....His arm has never been in question, we once again would have to sure up the O-line. His numbers could sky rocket with our receivers. :)

    Oline
I want the Cardinals to INVEST heavily on the Oline....like a #7 draft pick on either Fisher, Lane Johnson or Chance Warmack. I get the feeling that isn't going to happen. And, I think we all know the Cards won't be pursuing Jake Long in FA....Keim & Bidwill are too invested in his recent draft picks of Levi Brown, Nate Potter, and Bobby Massie to admit his scouting won't pan out with those guys...I hope I'm wrong, but he'll likely defend his scouting teams work.

    QB is not the answer.
There is NO QB in the WORLD who can succeed with what the Cardinals have been Putting out on the field.-----------Carson Palmer is just another Anderson or Lienart-----If Kolb is Healthy then Go with HIM (At least he's PAID FOR) and use every resource to get an O LINE to protect him----------And get rid of BEENY.

Uhm Kurt Warner did it with a pretty bad line. You just didnt know because he was able to hide it with his abilities.

    Pessimists
@theuglytruth Wow, a little early to be claiming his scouting won't pan out on Nate Potter and Bobbie Massie isn't it? Pump the brakes a little bit... I am pretty confident the Cards will go with Fisher or Warmack, maybe even Lane Johnson depending on what Keim thinks of him. Personally, I am hoping for Warmack, but regardless, Keim has shown he has a great draft record and I think whoever we pick will be an absolute playmaker. Despite an overabundance of pessimists in Arizona, this team looks to be in good hands right now.

    Keims draft
Keim didn't draft Levi Brown. When Levi Brown was drafted, Keim didn't make any of those decisions. He even said that if he was in charge of that draft, he would have taken Peterson over Levi Brown. Like MikeWins said, we should be in pretty good hands. Keim knows what we need to address. I don't see us drafting anything other than OL with the first pick.

    Count Me In
Count me in, Carson Palmer would be a nice stop gap QB for the Cards. Out with Kolb, out with Skelton, out with Lindley. Bring in Kolb, back him up with Hoyer, draft a QB like Mike Glennon, Tyler Wilson or Tyler Bray in round 2-3 to groom for the future. I could live with it.

That should say bring in Carson Palmer, not Kevin Kolb.
