A couple years ago, Nnamdi Asomugha was the hottest name on the free agent market.

Arguably the best cornerback in football, he surprised many by signing with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Two disappointing seasons later he's been released, and according to ProFootballTalk, could make his next home in Arizona.

Asomugha, 31, owns 405 combined tackles and 15 interceptions for his career, but tallied just 95 and four, respectively, in his two years with the Eagles.

A 6-foot-2, 210-pound corner, he has excellent size and speed. Asomugha is a three-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time All-Pro.

    My dream
My dream DB's for the Arizona Cardinals is Patrick Peterson, Nnamdi Asomugha, and of course Tyrann Mathieu. Make it happen Cards!

I always wondered why he has interest in AZ? Does anyone know the back story? I remember he considered AZ before he went to Philly.

    It's where it's at
Az residents only have to deal with dry heat, great place to live. Having Nnamdi would compliment Peterson really well. It would help seeing as how they're facing harvin & bolden in twice a year.

Nnmadi is gonna come here only to play under the same DC he played for in Philly where he sucked so bad? Yeah I don't think so.

I would love it but I don't see them overpaying for him like some other team will. It's hard to watch but I know that the real way to fix this team starts in April. So far I like the reasonably priced signings and most of the money they saved by letting a few people go. (as long as they spend it when it's time)

That's actually a common misconception. Bowles was only promoted to DC for the Eagls AFTER the defense started going down the toilet. When the team was already swirling around the bowl, that's when Bowles stepped in. They actually improved slightly after that, but the Eagls suffered from the same thing the Cards did: inept offense. Heard Nnamdi has some off-field issues but I agree with CardinalsDUDE. Love to see those three dominate our secondary.

    NFC West
With all of the QB/WR talent now in the NFCW, it would be nice to have PP and Nnamdi on the corners. Maybe drafter a mid-round Safety and sign Cason or another F/A safety. The cards will never beat those teams in a shoot-out; they will have to rely on defense, the run-game, and some big vertical plays.

either sign with SF or NO! I'm sure he'll want to go to a contender! We have some work to do!
