The National Football League may have only a 16-game regular season, but in reality, the league's business never stops.

March 8 marks the beginning of the NFL free agency period, and Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim figures to be busy re-stocking the team's roster on the heels of a 10-win campaign in 2013.

Rashard Mendenhall to retire, teams told

• ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that teams have been told that 26-year-old running back Rashard Mendenhall is retiring. Last season, with the Cardinals, Mendenhall logged 687 yards rushing in 217 attempts, fumbling a career-high four times over the course of 15 games.

Daryn Colledge tweets of his release from the Arizona Cardinals

• On Saturday afternoon, Colledge sent something resembling a "goodbye" tweet, wishing his team and its fan base good luck while thanking both parties for "an amazing opportunity." With the release, the Cardinals will have cut $4.55 million from the books, sending them into free agency at approximately $20 million under the league salary cap.



• Roberts caught 43 passes for 471 yards and two touchdowns for the Cardinals last season.
