Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu and nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu have been activated from the physically unable to perform list, the team announced Tuesday.
Mathieu, the Cardinals’ 2013 third-round draft pick, suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament and lateral collateral ligament injury in a Dec. 8 game against the St. Louis Rams. He had 68 tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble in 13 games during his rookie season.
Ta’amu, a fourth-round pick by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012, was claimed off waivers by the Cardinals before the 2013 regular season began. He recorded seven tackles in 14 games for the Cardinals last season.
Mathieu and Ta’amu were placed on the PUP list on July 23.
